‘Poyo' is a Malay slang word used by youth to mock their peers who attempt to speak English. Loosely translated, it could mean arrogance from showing off, or an attempt at standing out. A soft skills and communications trainer shares how he turned the word poyo into a war cry to encourage self-confidence among local graduates, improve their employability skills, and even to overcome failure.
